Meet Our Tutors

All staff members of Aydin’s Academy are recent graduates of the Pleasanton and surrounding school districts, and are experts in the school curriculum, system, teachers, and exams.

Aydin Mehrage

I love what I do. Having taught for over 12 years everywhere from tutoring institutions, to start-ups, to UC Berkeley, it’s always been my passion for students to realize that every student has the potential to achieve. In my free time I enjoy restoring classic cars and building electronics from scratch.

Sophia Tzonev

Hello, I’m Sophia! I’ve been working at Aydin’s Academy for over three years and have found a niche in helping students fall in love with reading and writing. I’m currently a student at UC Davis studying cognitive science and computer science. I like spending my free time reading novels, talking with friends, and overanalyzing directors’ choices in movies and shows.

Kian Javaheri

My name is Kian Javaheri and I am currently a freshman at Barrett, Arizona State University studying computer science! As of now, I am a dedicated student, but in the future, I plan to work a full-stack software engineering job. I have been working with Aydin for the past year and I have loved every second of it. It makes me very happy to help kids succeed and watch them improve over time. When I am not doing school work or tutoring, I am usually in my room producing music, playing video games, or coding. I look forward to working with your students soon!

Kellen Shablok

My name is Kellen Sabhlok, and I am a recent graduate from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science. I have been teaching students for the last four years, including about three years with Aydin’s Academy, and multiple years of tutoring through the University. My areas of expertise include Computer Science, Physics, and Spanish, as I have been speaking since I was a child. When I’m not working I enjoy staying active through sports and exercise, and working on my own personal coding projects.

Isa Hank

Hi! My name is Isa Hanck and I am a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in Neuroscience. I have been tutoring for five years in Math, Science, and English with students of all different ages and joined the Aydin’s Academy tutoring team this year. In my free time I enjoy hiking, listening to music, and baking. I am excited to work with you and your students soon!

Anshi Arora

Hi! My name is Anshi Arora. I graduated from Dublin High School in 2022 and am now a student at UC Santa Barbara. I am currently studying data science and am minoring in psychology. In my free time, I love listening to music, watching Wes Anderson movies, and trying out new places to eat.

Aakash Kadakia

I’ve been with Aydin’s academy for a couple of months now. I am currently a Junior studying Mechanical engineering at UCLA and have loved every minute of it. In my free time, I like to play piano and go to the gym!

Vasuki Rao

My name is Vasuki Rao and I am an undergraduate medical school scholar at Saint Louis University. I am currently majoring in Health Sciences and minoring in Biology. I have been tutoring students since my junior year of high school, and have been working at Aydin’s Academy since the beginning of this year. I absolutely love working with students to help make school a little easier. In my free time, I like painting, hiking, and exploring new places!

Madelyn LaBarbera

My name is Madelyn LaBarbera and I am a teacher full-time at a high school in Santa Cruz, California. When I’m not in the classroom, I work for Aydin’s Academy as a college counselor/graphic design manager. This will be my 4th year working at Aydin’s Academy! I also enjoy photography, baking, and spending time with my pets.

Vaishnavi Rao

Hi! My name is Vaishnavi Rao, and I have been a tutor at Aydin’s Academy for 4 months. I currently major in Public Health at UCSD. My favorite subject to tutor is math, specifically Algebra 2 and Precalculus. In my free time, I love to go to the beach, read, work out, and spend time with my pets.

Emma Monsen

My name is Emma Monsen and I am a fourth year Neuroscience major and Psychology minor at UC Davis. After working as a junior specialist I plan to apply to MD/PhD programs and become a physician-scientist. I have been tutoring with Aydin’s Academy for the last five years and have loved guiding students of all ages through their academic careers! In my free time I love hiking, hammocking, painting, and making jewelry.

Olivia LaBarbera

Hello! My name is Olivia LaBarbera and I am currently a fourth year student at UCSC. I am double majoring in Sociology & Education and hope to become a first grade teacher after I graduate. I have known Aydin for over 8 years, but have been working for Aydin’s Academy as Aydin’s assistant for around a year now. I really enjoy working with students and helping them reach their academic goals. In my free time, I love to travel, cook, and read.

Tanay Pathare

My name is Tanay Pathare, I’m currently a 3rd year at UCLA pursuing a major in Business Economics with a minor in Statistics. I’m currently pursuing a career path in consulting, specifically in the tech, media, and telecom sectors, and hoping to eventually break into the tech space. I’ve been working for Aydin’s Academy for a little over a year and love teaching math. Outside of school, I’m an avid bike rider and anime enthusiast.

I’m a fourth year computer science and information systems student at loyola university chicago. During my undergraduate years I conducted computer science research and held tech internships. After graduation I am going into technology consulting. Fun fact: I’ve started bouldering (indoor rock climbing)!

Sean

Recently Graduated from Oregon State University, I have always known that I was going to be a teacher. My goal is to spread my love for reading by teaching students reading comprehension, speed reading, and writing. I work diligently to find the books students want to read to build up their reading ability for school’s reading. Looking forward to starting our journey together!
